Week 4 Question
What, in your view, are the city’s top 3 infrastructure needs? If elected to the council, which of these needs would you prioritize addressing? And why?

I believe Piedmont’s top infrastructure needs are reflected in the City’s most recent budget: maintaining and improving our streets and sidewalks, upgrading our stormwater and sewer systems, and maintaining and modernizing our public facilities, including parks and recreational facilities. I support the City’s focus on these areas, while also considering public safety, emergency preparedness, and sustainability throughout these projects.
I care about the Piedmont community, and with aging infrastructure and ongoing maintenance needs, we have a responsibility to take care of what we have while planning thoughtfully for the future. Places like our Community Hall, pool, parks, and other City facilities are part of what makes Piedmont special. They are where friends and families gather, make memories, and build community, and they should remain vibrant and welcoming.
If elected, I would listen to residents, review the City’s capital improvement plans and financial projections, and work with City staff and fellow councilmembers to determine which projects should receive attention first. I would consider condition, public safety, urgency, community impact, available funding, and long-term financial consequences. I want to help take care of the Piedmont we have today while making thoughtful choices about the Piedmont we leave for the next generation.
